Lesson 7
In the sixth lesson you learned all about power chords
In this lesson, we will start off with using your fingers separately to play a song. I learned this by learning how to play Everybody Hurts By REM. Have a look at this:
D D E -----2-- E -----2-- (ring finger) B -3--3-3- B -3--3-3- (middle finger) G ---2---2 G ---2---2 (index finger) D -0------ D -0----- (thumb) A -------- A ------- (thumb) E -------- E ------- (thumb)
G G E -----3--- E -----3--- (ring finger) B -0--0-0-- B -0--0-0-- (middle finger) G ---0---0- G ---0---0- (index finger) D --------- D --------- (thumb) A --------- A --------- (thumb) E -3------- E -3------- (thumb)
I know that this looks quite difficult the first time you see it, but just try and figure it out. Anyone who knows the song will tell you if you play it the right way or not!!
Something else: when playing a minor scale, there is a way of putting your fingers in such a way that it is easy to play that scale. Have a look at this:
A minor E ------------------------------- A ------------------------------- D ---------------2--------------- G ---------2-3-5---5-3-2--------- B ---2-3-5---------------5-3-2--- E -5---------------------------5-
This was the seventh guitar lesson. You can practise this at home until you understand exactly what I wrote here. The next lesson will be here soon!
